As a member of the Mark Twain community you will receive regular information updates in a variety of ways. In addition to direct e-mails from teachers and class room parents, classroom blogs and school-wide e-mail blasts we have the following:
- Twain Times – Is our weekly electronic news letter which will be sent to the email address provided in the on-line directory. In an effort to be environmentally friendly and save money we will put the majority of information in this newsletter. You can send an e-mail to twaintimes10@yahoo.com to get onto the distribution list or to change your e-mail address. There are some items that will have to be distributed through the Weekly Communication Folders.
- Weekly Communication Folders - Every Tuesday, students will be sent home with a folder of information that could not be included in the Twain Times. If you have asked to receive a paper copy of the Twain Times it will come home in this folder. Each student is required to return this folder to his/her teacher on Wednesday.
- PTO Meetings - All parents and guardians are invited to attend the monthly PTO meetings. They are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm in the library. Child care is provided.
- PTO Meeting Notes - If you are unable to attend a PTO meeting you can access an archived copy of the meeting notes on the marktwainpto.org website.

- Twain Times – If you have information you would like to include in the Twain Times please follow the following procedures
- PTO related requests, please forward information to our PTO President, Deanna Sheaffer deannasheaffer@yahoo.com for approval.
- All other requests, please forward information to Ms. Patin for approval at mpatin@houstonisd.org
- Also e-mail to Niki Deltz, Newsletter Editor at twaintimes10@yahoo.com
- The deadline for submissions to the Twain Times is every Thursday at 5 pm.
- Weekly Communication Folders – To send out information through the Weekly Communication Folders:
- Your item must be approved by the Principal, Ms. Patin, and the PTO President, Deanna Sheaffer.
- After getting approval contact the The Weekly Communication Folders coordinator, Kris Edelheit, for the exact number of copies that you will need to copy.
- You must give the Coordinator the copies to be included in the folders no later than 12 noon Monday.
